State Sen. Thomas Morahan, who is receiving treatment for leukemia, organized a blood drive Tuesday to show gratitude for the care he's received.
Morahan made a point to thank every blood donor at the Pascak Community Center in Nanuet. Morahan says he received huge amounts of blood during a 41-day stay at a Manhattan hospital trying to combat the leukemia, which is cancer of the blood.
"Without [donors], I wouldn't be sitting here and a lot of other people wouldn't be alive," said Morahan.
