Strong rains today prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch for the entire lower Hudson Valley.

The downpour caused extensive flooding and shut down parts of the Bronx River Parkway and the Saw Mill River Parkway in Irvington, creating a traffic nightmare during the evening commute.
Drivers say it's time for something to be done to prevent the roadways from flooding every time a rainstorm hits.
