A street vendor says she was robbed of several important items during Nyack’s annual street fair Sunday.
Meryl Weinstein, a longtime clothing vendor from Queens, says that one man distracted her during the crowded event while another grabbed her personal bag from under the table and ran off.
Weinstein lost her vendor permit, important tax documents, driver’s license, car keys, Social Security card and cash.
"It was a big hassle and a great expense to get everything taken care of, and it's still not done, and there was no security,” says Weinstein. “I saw no security at the fair."
Weinstein’s booth was located at North Broadway and High Avenue during the busy fair. She canvassed sidewalks and searched trashcans in the area hoping to find something but was unable to.
She is offering a small cash reward to anyone who can help recover her documents.
Weinstein says she reported the incident to Orangetown police and was told a detective is investigating.
