The Pew Research Center for Journalism and Media surveyed about 35,000 U.S. adults, allowing for local news profiles of individual communities.

News 12 Networks was rated the number one source for local news for those in the study in the New York City area.

According to the survey, adults in the area get more of their local news from TV and then websites, and apps. 

The survey also revealed weather was most important to consumers when it comes to local news coverage.

Accuracy in reporting was also an important factor, according to the study.
