The Tribute in Light will be returning to lower Manhattan for the 20th anniversary of 9/11 in September.

The lights almost didn't happen last year because of the pandemic.

News 12 has also learned that families and friends will be returning to the ceremony this year to read the names of the fallen.

Last September, a recording of the names was played due to coronavirus protocols.

The decision led to two competing memorial ceremonies.
