The two men accused of throwing Molotov cocktails that sparked a house fire were arraigned in Haverstraw Friday.
According to police, the residents were asleep when the suspects threw Molotov cocktails at the front door of their Westside Avenue home. Police quickly determined the fire was the work of arson. Luckily the residents were uninjured. Police say the residents and the suspects were familiar with each other.
Luis Caronado, 27, and Octavio Carrenza, 30, are charged with first-degree arson. Police say more charges will probably follow pending the outcome of the investigation. Both are being held in Rockland County Jail without bail.
