With neighboring counties Rockland and Orange declaring state of emergencies over New York City’s plan to send migrants to the Hudson Valley, many are wondering what Westchester’s stance on the issue is.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer says he hasn't received any word just yet about migrants being held in Westchester, but he won't be surprised if it happens soon.

Latimer says not only is the decision out of his hands, and in the hand of the federal government, but he himself is on board.
"Human compassion has to be met with pragmatism. We must understand the U.S. can’t solve problems of the world. We don’t have the resources. We can’t be there for every person on this planet, but we can’t turn a blind eye either."
Latimer says he's spoken to the county's legal advisor, who tells him even declaring a countywide state of emergency won't help.  The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has the final call.
