Two Yonkers residents are speaking out after they say they've been dealing with brown and discolored water in their apartment for weeks.
The tenants say their kitchen and bathroom water have been rusty on and off for about two weeks now. They provided pictures from Monday afternoon to show the issue.
News 12 did go check it out later in the evening but the water was back to normal by then.
Tenants say they've tried reaching out to multiple departments within Yonkers and have not gotten a clear answer as to what's causing this.
"I don't feel comfortable because what I saw in that sink, even when the water runs clear I don't know if there's any amount of levels of bacteria," said the Rev. Emma Loftin Woods-Negord, a tenant.
News 12 reached out to the city, the Department of Public Works and the buildings management but hasn't heard back.
News 12 also reached out to the fire department to check and see if it is testing any hydrants in the area but was told it is not.
A spokesperson for Council woman Deana Norman told News 12 that after learning about this issue, they submitted a work order to have the problem addressed.
