Tarrytown police say they have arrested a Bronx man for attempting to scam an elderly victim out of money.
They say 33-year-old Miguel Sosa called the victim on Wednesday and said he was a close relative who was involved in a traffic accident.
A second suspect who was posing as a public defender called the victim and said the relative would not be released until a cash bond payment was made.
Sosa then made arrangements for the payment to be picked up from the victim at her residence.
Sosa was charged with attempted grand larceny and was released on his own recognizance.
