The families of two Spring Valley High School students with developmental disabilities say their children were snubbed during the school's commencement ceremony over the weekend. Maureen Osei says her 21-year-old autistic daughter, Lauren, and her classmate Anthony Mundy, who has Down syndrome, were both excluded from Spring Valley High School's graduation on Sunday. "They did apologize for having excluded them and we accepted that, but it was still an embarrassment," Osei says. The families of both students say they've been promised a reprinted copy of the commencement program and their diplomas will be sent by mail.
