A fashion icon was remembered Wednesday in the city of White Plains.
The late Andre Leon Talley was memorialized at the City Limits Diner. A plaque was posted in the diner to honor Talley's memory.
Talley died in January at the age of 73. The former creative director and editor at large of Vogue magazine lived in White Plains and often held court at the diner. Friends say he often ate three meals a day at his favorite spot.
"He was a figure bigger than life," says Bill Livanos, whose family owns City Limits Diner.
Livanos says it was heartbreaking when Talley stopped showing up.
Friends say he loved his turkey chili with extra onions and the cheesecake.
"He put City Limits on the map," says friend Azline Suber. "He loved White Plains and that's why I felt White Plains should come out for him."
Suber met Talley at the diner two years ago at his favorite corner booth. Suber says Talley complimented his outfit.
Many recognize Talley from his two memoirs or his TV stints on "Sex and the City" and "America's Next Top Model."
