Even though the plant shut down at the end of April, there will be a test of the Indian Point sirens on Tuesday.
Officials say the test will happen around 10:30 a.m. and will be heard in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange counties.
If there were an emergency at the nuclear power plant in Buchanan, the sirens would sound continuously at full volume for four minutes followed by an activation of the Emergency Alert System on radio and television stations.
Again, tomorrow's siren sounding is only a test, and no action by the public is necessary.
