New York Bar Association report makes recommendations for modernization

The bar's Task Force on the Modernization of Criminal Practice recommends local courts be replaced by a countywide district court or otherwise consolidated to save money and be more efficient.

The New York Bar Association has released recommendations to modernize and improve the justice system in the state.
The bar's Task Force on the Modernization of Criminal Practice recommends local courts be replaced by a countywide district court or otherwise consolidated to save money and be more efficient.
They also suggest new requirements for local justices, recommending they be lawyers and have a minimum of five years practicing.
There are also recommendations for sentencing, technology and vehicle and traffic law.
