A 49-year-old man is in the hospital after police said he was shot Sunday morning in Morris Heights. Police are still searching for the shooter. Police said the victim was shot in the left arm and right leg and was stable at Harlem Hospital. It happened shortly before 12 p.m. Sunday on Popham Avenue and West 174th Street across from the Sedgwick Houses. As of Sunday evening, it was unclear what led to the shooting. Police said the shooter was last seen wearing a white tank top, black shorts and had a black backpack. Anyone with information is urged to contact police. One neighbor told News 12 she heard two gunshots and thought they were firecrackers. Another neighbor said a shooting in broad daylight had her worried about her 18-year-old daughter. “[I’m] nervous and scared because [my daughter is] always here out walking around getting air, and then she goes back upstairs,” the woman said.
