Police say a boater's body was recovered from Greenwood Lake late Monday afternoon.

Crews searched Greenwood Lake at around noon Monday looking for Ronald Huffin, 40, from Paterson, New Jersey.

Police report that a passenger told them the man went into the water alongside the boat, about 30 feet from shore, but never came back up.

"He had some sort of problem and went down," said John Hansen, of the Greenwood Lake Police Department, "The other person on the boat tried to locate him, couldn't locate him. He came back to the marina and called for help."

Three people including the victim had been on the boat at the time.

Police say the drowning is the first at Greenwood Lake this year.
