Organizers at the Salvation Army in Newburgh say they have received an outpouring of support and gifts from the community since word spread that 60 gifts were stolen from its office last week.

Lt. Sheila Gage says residents were filing in all day yesterday, donating gifts to help families in need across the Hudson Valley.

Gage says a local Toys 'R Us even put up signs in the store asking residents to donate to the organization.

The Salvation Army had to change around its distribution dates so it has time to sort through all of the toys. It says it will now be able to help all of the families it had originally planned to assist and more.
