Students from Stratford's Franklin Elementary School celebrated Black History Month with a living wax museum on Friday.

Each year, sixth graders pick a notable person of African American heritage to study.

Teachers say they call it a wax museum because the students become the person that they have researched -- dressing up like them and giving a speech as if they are that person.

Children chose from a wide variety of people, including athletes, actresses and scientists.

This is the sixth year the school has run the program.
