A tractor-trailer caught fire Sunday morning on Route 8 South near Exit 11.

It happened just before 5 a.m. When firefighters from Trumbull and Shelton arrived on scene, they found a produce trailer on fire.

It took over two hours to put out the flames. The highway was briefly closed so water could be brought to the scene from a nearby hydrant.

It's not clear if anyone was injured.
