A bomb threat at Spackenkill High School Tuesday morning led to the dismissal of students and staff.

The threat, which was also sent to other unidentified school districts, is believed to be a hoax by the Poughkeepsie Town Police Department.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Spackenkill School District dismissed high school students and staff Tuesday morning to allow for a thorough investigation of the school building

A K-9 sweep of the school was conducted, and no suspicious items were found. Police officials say they will have extra patrols at the schools on Wednesday.
