Greenburgh police officials say they will be stepping up patrols after a series of car thefts in the area.
Police say several cars were broken into over the weekend in the area of Beechwood and Maple Avenues in the Hartsdale section of Greenburgh.
They say just some loose change was taken from inside the cars but it's an important reminder for all of us that even if you park in your driveway, you need to lock your car at night and make sure you don't keep anything of value inside.
Officials also urge people to bring wallets, purses and laptops inside their houses. Even mail or bills should be brought inside as criminals can use those for identity theft.
Don't leave anything in your cars that might entice thieves to try and break in and steal.
