The New York State Housing Authority is offering an additional $1,000 to the $5,000 PETA reward originally offered to find the person responsible for the abuse and abandonment of a dog found lying in the middle of the road in Southeast on May 17.
The dog was found lying in the middle of the road near Sodom Road and Brewster Hill.
A good Samaritan who was driving at 4 a.m. on Saturday, spotted the animal, grabbed the dog and brought him to a nearby animal hospital.
The mastiff-bulldog mix was found to be severely underweight, with broken bones and swollen paws.
