Two men are facing charges in Harrison for attempting to solicit home improvement work without a permit.
Police say a woman called the department on Tuesday, claiming a man she didn't know entered her home without consent and tried to solicit roofing work. When police arrived, they saw these two men—20-year-old Patrick Quinn and 26-year-old Thomas Stokes—trying to solicit roofing work to other residents in the area.
Police say the two men spoke in Irish accents and claimed they were roofers from the U.K. who have only been in the U.S. briefly. They also revealed they did not have a permit to solicit or to perform any home improvement work.
Both men were charged with soliciting without a permit, with Quinn also being charged with criminal trespass. They were issued summonses, processed, and then released.
