Neighbors on a Middletown block say they’re feeling on edge after several U.S. Marshals were seen going door-to-door in bulletproof vests.
Several neighbors sent News 12 video of the law enforcement activity involving at least half a dozen federal officials on Grand Avenue Thursday.
City of Middletown police say they were aware of the activity and responded to speak with several concerned neighbors who called the station to ask why officials were there.
Middletown police referred News 12's questions about the activity to federal authorities. The Department of Justice has not responded to the request for information. So far, the reason for the law enforcement presence is not known.
